To celebrate Epiphany, Le Chouchou is showcasing its identity more than ever: here, you can enjoy the galette des rois exclusively at Le Chouchou, that quintessentially French restaurant with the atmosphere of an urban guinguette in Paris’s 9th arrondissement, in a lively and warm setting that stays true to the spirit of the house. Located just a stone’s throw from the Opéra Garnier, between the Madeleine and the major department stores (Galeries Lafayette and Printemps), Le Chouchou is a must-visit gathering spot. To celebrate this iconic January tradition, Le Chouchou has teamed up with Benoît Castel, who has created an exclusive galette des rois especially for the hotel.

Throughout the month of January, Le Chouchou’s galette des rois will be served every weekend during brunch. Takeout is not available: this creation is meant to be shared on-site, at the large tables under the light-filled glass canopy.

Benoît’s galette des rois stays true to tradition. It is made with inverted puff pastry, a demanding technique in which the dough is worked into the butter. The result: a crispier, lighter, and airier galette.

The frangipane filling is deliciously rich and creamy, featuring a combination of almond cream and vanilla from Madagascar. An authentic and delightful recipe you won't find anywhere else.

To make this exclusive galette des rois even more special, each slice contains an artisanal bean designed by ceramic artist Flore Faucheux. Eight handmade designs, crafted as true collector’s items, complete the Epiphany experience at Le Chouchou.

True to its playful spirit, Le Chouchou adds a surprise twist to tradition: a lucky bean shaped like a roast chicken. The lucky winner will receive a one-night stay in one of the hotel’s suites, including brunch. It’s the perfect way to extend the Chouchou experience.
